Dear Merle :

You are running into a restriction from the CAD engine. We are inquiring the drawing file for drawing entities on the specified elevation layers, but the CAD engine is not returning a selection set with entities since the previous cross-section cut lines are restricting the new cross-section cuts.

However, there are a couple of tricks you can use:

1. There is a "Recut Topo" command in the Input | Ground Geometry menu. This command allows you to have both existing and proposed topo in your drawing file, and have RiverCAD / RMS then create a new cross-section by simply recutting the existing cross-section on the new topo data.

2. If you want to manually recut the cross-sections, then simply offset the previous cross-section cuts by a small amount (let's say 5 to 10 feet) and then cut your new cross-sections parallel to the previous cross-section cut lines.
