Note that RMS and RiverCAD should recognize the point that you select.

However, if you have already created a cross-section cut in plan view, you can very easily add additional points on the cross-section cut. Select Input | Ground Geometry | Edit Geometry. The Edit Geometry dialog box that is displayed contains a button labeled "New". Using this button, you can then return to your topo map view and select on the cross-section cut line where you want additional points to be added. RMS will then interpolate ground elevations from the current cross-section cut line. You can then easily adjust these elevations from within the Edit Geometry dialog box.
