Sloping Dam Crest

We have modeled a 2,150 long dam crest with constant elevation.
Actually there is a depressed area (fuseplug) in the crest, approximately 200 feet long tapering from 0 feet to 3.5 feet below the dam crest. This depressed area was now modeled using the sloping crest option. When running a no breach scenario the computed reservoir elevation does not overtop the embankment anymore. With a constant elevation we had overtopping by about 4.6 feet. I cannot believe this low area conveys all the flow.
Any ideas for modeling this?
Thanks
