Has anyone tried to obtain the maximum average velocity at a cross section during an unsteady flow simulation? I am having trouble obtaining a time series plot of velocity or an option to give maximum velocities.


It is easy to obtain the peak flowrate....from which I could use the cross sectional area to compute average velocity, but then what is the area at the peak flow? And what if there is another value of area and another value of flowrate....not necessarily the peak flowrate..... that gives a higher velocity? It would certainly be simplest if I could obtain the plot of velocity over time.


Any ideas or suggestions?
