Breach Nws

I want to simulate the failure of a small earthen dam caused by overtopping. The features are:
Dam crest lenght: 623 ft
Dam crest width: 20 ft
Top of dam elevation: 47 ft
Cohesion: 135 lb/ft2
For an elevation of 46 ft the surfece area is 69 acres.
The upstream inflow is small, in the worst conditions is about 250 cfs.
Whit this inflow at run time a floating point error occurs:
WHY?
I tried to increase the inflow. Only with an upstream inflow of 706 cfs it doesn't crash.
But these conditions are far from the real ones.
Thank you.
