Modelling a Barrage

Dear Chri Maeder,

How to model a barrage in the downstream of a dam? I encountered one barrage of 200 m length where I get a high flood crest elevation with option 1. The entire length of the barrage is fitted with total 15 nos. of electrically operated gates with a height of 10 m. The storage at FRL is about 160 mcm and the design flood of the barrage is about 7500 cms. So at any cause I cannot ignore the barrage. Kindly advise.

Re: Modelling a Barrage

Dear Abin Philip :

I think that you would need to model this by defining sufficient cross sections that define the barrage. If the barrage is acting as another dam, downstream of the initial (upstream) dam, then you will need to model it as two dams in series.

If you have any additional questions or need any further information, please contact me again.
