Spillway gate elevation

Dear Chris!

I´ve got the model to work today, but I´ve now another problem. The spillway gate, weirs in my case, is importent to get modify correctly. The note "spillway gate center elevation", is it the bottom of the weirs that I have to tell the program or the center of the weirs? Or if I tell It that It most calculate for the center, do I have to modify the spillway curve from zero to -m and +m?

Thanks,

Fredrik Persson

Re: Spillway gate elevation

Fredrik :

If you are using a "gated structure", then you are defining the center elevation of the gate with the entry "Spillway Gate Center Elevation". This is because DAMBRK is using the orifice equation, which relies on the center of the orifice for its computations.

However, if your outlet structure is a free surface weir, then use the entry "Uncontrolled Spillway Crest Elevation".
