Levee Failure

I am trying to model an earthen levee failure along a river. The river is relatively flat, so I am assuming this can be modeled as a dam breach problem. However, I think the breach geometry (especially the breach width) would be significantly different than that of a dam breach. The maximum breach height (the height of the levee) is 2.5m, which would produce an average breach width of 12.5m (max breach width 5xH) if the problem is considered a dam breach problem. I think the breach width would be much wider than 12.5m. I would appreciate any reference.

Thanks

Re: Levee Failure

In DAMBRK you can set the width of the breach to be any width you want.
