theta factor

Dear Sir:

I am a DAMBRK user and I do not know how to deal with the theta weigthing factor. I have been told that if you use Mixed flow or Supercritical options in Boundary conditions it is recommended to set theta at a value of 0.5. In other case, while using subcritical flow type, a value of 0.51 must be entered in the model.
I would be very pleased if you could explain me with easy words what does the theta weighting factor exactly mean and how should I use it.

Many thanks in advance,

Re: theta factor

Note that the Theta Factor is clearly defined in Chapter 6 of the User Manual, as well as in the online help for that data input dialog.

If you have a question after consulting these sources, please advise.
