weir outflow

When the weir outflow option is applied at a cross section in a working model I can`t find the output results I am interested in. Is it possible to get a flow hydrograph for the weir outflow? What information does the program give the user about the water lost over a weir, and were can I find it.

And why does an error free model quit working when the weir outflow function is applied? My guess was that the model would appreciate less water to route downstream the weir.

Thanks.

Re: weir outflow

I feel that your model is probably crashing for some other reason other than you first think. Without additional information describing your model, I can't really guess at what the problem could be.

DAMBRK is a difficult model to use, and does not always operate as you would expect. Many times you need to try a "trial and error" method to get exactly what you want. I believe that this is such a time.

I would suggest trying to use Problem Option #1 (defined in the Project Description input screen), which computes a reservoir depletion table. This table is not available for any of the other options, but works well if there are no tailwater submergence effects.

I can't see that you have answered mr Inge Anundskaas with his problem of getting the hydrograph from the weir outflow. I'm looking forward to hear your answer on this problem since I also have the same problem.

Re: Re: Re: weir outflow

I did answer his question. I stated that the only way to get the output was to run Option 1 which generates a reservoir depletion table. From this table you can determine where the various overflow comes from.

There is no other way to get this data.

Re: Re: Re: Re: weir outflow

Hello

My question deal with lateral outflow along the rivercourse modeled as weir outflow. Can I really find the values of the lateral outflow in the reservoir depletion table? If so, what is the name of the parameter and the variable?

Sincerely

Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: weir outflow

The reservoir depletion table does not list lateral outflow results. Lateral outflow occurs on a cross-section by cross-section basis. This is not reported in the reservoir depletion table since this only details the output from the reservoir.

The only output table detailing lateral outflow is in the running analysis results.
