Re: Simple & advanced water surfaces

Dear Chris Karam :

Note that the "simple" floodplain map results cannot really be generated from DAMBRK FPM results, since the simple floodplain map results require a left and right edge of water to be specified, and DAMBRK does not write this data out. therefore, I would trust the advanced results. If the cross-sections are not cut wide enough, then the graphical floodplain results will be clipped to the extent of the convex hull (internally generated by connecting the "outer" ends of the cross-sections).

If you have any additional questions or need any further information, please contact me again.

Sincerely,

simple & advanced water surfaces

I imported a fpm file from DAMBRK and tried both a "simple" and "advanced" water surface in the flood plain module. The simple boundary seems to be working properly at each section in Rivercad, but the advanced water surface goes outside the each cross sections simple water surface and above the contours it should based on the peak flood elevations.

1. Why is this and how do I fix it?
