Import HEC2 Data into DAMBRK 3

Dear Mr. Meader

1) I want to convert cross section data, derived by cutting sections with a spezial CAD system (Caddy), into HEC2-format. This file should be able to be imported with the option "Import NWS ´88 card file", right? My problem is, that i don't know the correct data format. I also don´t have access to Rivercad or other helpful software for data conversion. Can you send me an example file with detailed description?

2) How many cross sections with lateral inflow can be specified? Will Dambrk calculate the superposition of a lateral inflow graph with the wave in the main channel automatically? What about the backwater effects due to the incoming lateral flow in the cross section, before and after?

Iam locking for quick answer, thanks

You can download a PDF file that contains a detailed description of the HEC-2 format from our RiverCAD download page.

You can have an unlimited number of lateral inflows defined. DAMBRK will automatically add this lateral inflow to the routed flow, and will automatically account for any other additional backwater effects due to it.
