Dear Gerald :
Note that you can only define a reservoir geometry for the most upstream dam structure, and then only for problem options #1, #13, and #14 (level pool routing). If you have defined simultaneous dynamic reservoir routing (i.e., problem options #11 and #12), where the reservoir routing and downstream routing are performed at the same time, then you define the reservoir dimensions using cross-sections. Note that simultaneous dynamic reservoir routing is only necessary for extremely long reservoirs where the water level in the reservoir will not be level. All of the reservoirs for any further downstream dams are define strictly with cross-sections.
Note that DAMBRK will compute the outflow hydrograph from the breach, but you must define the dimensions of the final breach and the time required to develop the final breach. If you do not know what to enter, there are some suggested values within Chapter 6 of the BOSS DAMBRK Users Manual. Also, if you have an earthen dam, then BOSS BREACH can compute for you what the breach dimensions and time of formation will be.
If you have any additional questions or need any further information, please contact me again.
