question on user's manual of bossdambrk

I would like to have a question on what do you mean by following sentence : "Simulation of bore development and movement is approximated by the through-computation (weak solution) technique in which good definition of the bore is dependent on proper distance and time steps used in the computation.", stated on page 6-9, first alinea, of the User's Manual of Boss Dambrk; particularly the word bore. This refers to "tunneling" or "the development of a hole" through an earthen dam, with regard to a piping failure.
