Downstream Water Surface Control

surface control in the channel-valley boundary conditions screen. In the BOSS DAMBRK Hydrodynamic Flood Routing user's manual on page 4-14, it indicates that to define the downstream water surface control you can "Select 'Channel control', 'Single value rating control curve', 'cRitical flow', 'stage Hydrograph', or 'User specified initial water surface elevation' by pressing the appropriate capital letter." I recently purchased the professional version of DAMBRK and my Channel-Valley Boundary Conditions screen looks exactly the same as the screen shown on page 4-14 of the user's manual. It doesn't appear that you can define a 'User specified initial water surface elevation' on this screen. If you are not able to define a water surface elevation on this screen, is there another screen where it is possible to do this?

Thanks for your attention.

Re: Downstream Water Surface Control

Dear Chris :

The best way, if you want to maintain a fixed water surface elevation, is to use the "stage Hydrograph" option. You will need to define a stage value for each entry in the associated dialog box, for the number of data entries defined for the inflow hydrograph.

Normally you want to use "Channel control" as your downstream boundary condition.

If you have any additional questions or need any further information, please contact me again.
