modeling pressure wave in pipelines

Dear Sir,
I will appreciate if you can assist me in terms of literature materials for my research work.
My research topic is "THE DEVELOPMENT OF PIEZOELECTRIC SENSORS FOR IMPACT MONITORING ALONG PETROLEUM PIPELINES''.
The idea of the research is detect impacts along petroleum pipelines and locate the position of such impact immediately they occur. The work will also involve differentiating between an impacts and a leak on the pipeline. I want to start by carrying out an analysis on the different modes of wave that will propagate in pipes and follow up with a mathematical model.
All forms of assistance will be appreciated.
Looking forward to your response.
