A typical problem
I want to do a sumilation that includes a typical problem. In my system there is a service reservoir (overhead tank) this gets filled in ealy morning hours (that is arond 4.30 A.M.) through a gravity main pipe line. At about 6.30 AM the water is released to the network. Then the supply is closed as soon as the water level reaches a specified depth (this time is varying from 20 minutes to 30 minutes depending on filling level of the tank which is grossly uncertain). In this way a time dependant variation is observed in the whole network. It is requested thet how do I model this situation. i have tried considering the unit as a reservoir and allotted a time pattern for the head. similarly I have allotted a pattern to the demand and in 48 hours 1 hours demand is imposed. This does not work well and absurd results are produced.
