Stormwater Source Control Design Standards

We are currently researching stormwater source controls that target rainfall capture/quantity control (not quality), and in particular the availability of design standards from other jurisdictions. The following list of stormwater source control strategies has been selected:

1) Absorptive landscaping
2) Rain gardens
3) Vegetated swales
4) Vegetation grids for roadways and vehicle parking
5) Non-vegetated infiltration systems (i.e. permeable/porous pavements)
6) Extensive green roofs
7) Deep-well infiltration

We are particularly interested in obtaining design standards from jurisdictions throughout the world where the climate is similar to our region of the Pacific Northwest in terms of typical annual rainfall volumes (1000 - 2000 mm per year) and moderate temperatures (minimal freezing in the winter). That being said, we don't want to rule out standards from areas that may be similar, but not identical to our region.

If you are not aware of any design standards, then general design guidelines would also be useful. If the information is not available on the internet, a contact person where we might obtain a copy would be appreciated.

Also, if you have contacts who may be aware of something and are not on this list, feel free to forward this email to them.

Thanks for the help,

Troy Jones, P.Eng.
