Inlet Offset

Hi,

I'm new to this thread and also new to SWMM, i have just graduated from university so if the question sounds novice please forgive me.

I am redesigning a experienced civil engineers flow design for a stormwater system on a wharf as there are several changes to the design.

I have set up a spreadsheet on excel detailing all the grades, RL levels, Invert EI's, pipe dia, grade, pipe lengths and i've modeled the entire system. However when i put my information into my SWMM file, i do not know how to adjust for the Inlet Offset.

For eg.

Pit 6 on line 1 (pit at top of line)
RL: 5.12
Invert EI: 3.7
Max Depth: 1.42

Pit 5 on line 1
RL: 5.0
Invert EI: 3.34
Max Depth: 1.66

this is what i've currently set, its a 36m .375 dia pipe, achieving a 1% grade.

however i want a 0.02 offset in the pit, therefore the pipe from 1/5 to 1/4 will be 0.02 below the level of pipe from 1/6 to 1/5.

Is this achieved simply by selecting the conduit between the two pits and in the 'inlet offset' box putting 0.02, do i also need to change 'outlet offset' to 0.02?
when i use the 'Profile Plot' and i zoom right in at the moment it doesn't shot the 0.02 offset.

Could you please advise me what i need to do to account for the pit offset.

Thank-you

Two conventions for conduit offset

See page 171 under Conduit Properties of the manual.
