Re: Automated Regulators

Tarig -

I haven't used the inflatable weir, but I can testify that the type 13 gate does work. Here's a configuration I used recently to model a gate that is controlled based on head at a downstream point.

* GATES ARE LOWERED WHEN DEPTH AT JUNCTION WWPS EXCEEDS 4.9 FT
* GATES RAISED WHEN DEPTH IS BELOW 2.5 FEET
* LOWERED GATE SETTINGS:
* MIDDLE SIPHON: 5 IN. (0.42 FT; A = 0.625 FT2)
* TYPE AREA ORIFC ZP DEEPO WIDEO
F1 'NMSIGT' 'NMSI-D' 13 4.50 1.00 0 3.0 1.5
* ICNODE OOPEN OCLOSE OCAREA ORATE IDIR IOPRNT
F3 'WWPS' 2.5 4.9 0.625 0.025 0 1

Good luck,

Automated Regulators

Hello everyone

i have interceptor sewer network setup in XPSWMM and i need to replace EXTRAN orifice/outfall weir regulator configration with automated regulator based on flow at the sysem STP.

XPSWMM manual and technical support recommed using inflatable weir which use the depth at any node to regulate the flow in any link. i made a test run using two inflatable weirs to simulate flow to interceptor and cso outfall. the results donot show any cso when the assigned depth in STP is exceeded.

Has anyone set up this type of model or have some insight on using automated regulators.

Thanks

Re: Automated Regulators

Mitch

Thanks for your response to my question. Gate 13 in EPASWMM is similar to bendable weir in XPSWMM. sine i have my model in XPSWMM i used the multiple-link in EXTRAN by having both orifice and inflatable weir to the interceptor pipe and outfall weir to the receiving water. this represents real time control and overflow may occur even if the level at WPCP is below the control head.

thanks again for the info.
