DXF to XPX

I have recently started using XP-SWMM. All node and link data for my model is presently in Microstation format (.DGN). I can easily convert this data into .DXF format; however, XP-SWMM does not recognize .DXF format. I looked into the spreadsheet import capabilities of XP-SWMM and it has it's own customized format called XPX.

Is there a way to convert from DXF to XPX format? Your assistance would be much appreciated.

Re: DXF to XPX

Jon,

The new version 5.6 and higher of XP-SWMM can read a DXF file as a background picture but does not extract data from the DXF file. At CAiCE software we can read the DGN file and extract the data. You can send me a copy of the DGN file and I will see if some of the XPX data can be extracted from the DGN file using the CAiCE Visual Manager.

Re: DXF to XPX

If what you want to do is to import the nodes and links' position as a graphic background you can plot the file generated with the DXF file using an HPGL format and select plot to a file instead of sending to the plotter. The XPSWMM can read that HPGL format. After that you may have to layout again the nodes and links on top of the graphical background. I do not know if you can extract more informacion regarding the nodes and links out of the DXF file. (I guess you can not)
