combine block problems

Hello fellow swmm users.

It's been a while since I last posted an inquiry, so I thought I'd throw out a new one. I've been trying to use the combine block to combine two interface files. Since that was unsuccessful, I tried to extract information for a single node from one of the files. After failing again, I tried to convert an interface file to ascii format. All three attempts generated the following error message:

ERROR. End-of-file reached unexpectedly while reading header information on interface file on unit no. 10. File name = JIN.UF
Check to see that this file is the proper interface file. Run stopped.

Does anyone have any hints as to what will make the combine block work?

Sincerely,
Bill Walker

Re: combine block

Chris,

Thanks for the reply. We are using XPSWMM for this modeling effort. I have gotten the combine block to run using the swmm95r executable:

at the command prompt, type "swmm95r <inputfile> <outputfile>"

The input file must begin with the letter c and have the .dat extension. I tried to specify a node within the extran model, but all I got was (all of) the outfall nodes. Now I have an oscillation problem to chase down...

FYI, if you want to convert a binary interface file to an ascii file, give the output file on the @ line (JOUT) a .txt extension rather than a .int extension so that you know it's a text file and not a binary interface file.

Happy modeling!

Re: XPSWMM combine block correction

Dear SWMMers,

I stated incorrectly yesterday that the XPSWMM combine block file must begin with the letter c. The file only needs to have a .dat extension to run properly.
