Re: Partial Run

I believe that latter versions of SWMM use TZERO to define the number of hours into the interface file to start the simulation. I think that this is included in the version 4.4a program available from Dr. Huber's website. CDM has made additional changes in subsequent versions.

Re: Partial Run

Taymour,

You would have to change the Extran code a little to do what you describe. If Extran reads an interface file then the starting date of the interface file will be substituted for the date you entered on line B1. You should modify subroutine indat3.for so that it does not substitute the date from the interface file.

XP-SWMM32 and Visual Hydro already do this substitution of dates when the interface file and the job control date are not the same.

Re: Partial Run

A few months ago I had this same problem with Transport reading an interface file from Runoff. No matter what you designated as the start time, Transport would only start at the beginning of the time series on the interface file from Runoff. I was using XPSWMM-32 when I had this problem.

Re: Partial Run

Tony,

This may of been a problem in XP-SWMM32 but I just tested a few examples in Visual Hydro and Transport was skipping ahead to the correct date on the Runoff interface file. For other users of XP-SWMM32 and Visual Hydro please remember that the starting time/date and ending time/date in any XP datbase is shared between Runoff and Transport. A change in one date will change the other layers date. Extran has a separate time/date storage in the XP database. A change in the Extran dates will not change either runoff or transport.

Partial Run

Hi SWMMers:

I have a long continuous simulation using SWMM 4.31. The EXTRAN file interfaces with a TRNAS file where it reads the time stamp of the run.

Can we execute a partial EXTRAN run? which will start from the middle of the TRANS interface.

I tried to change TZERO but didn't work.

Thanks,
Taymour El-Hosseiny, Ph.D.
