HEC-HMS Error Message

I am running Reservoirs through my HEC-HMS Model using the Elevation-Storage-Discharge Method. I keep receiving an error message stating that the computed storage in the Reservoir has exceeded the maximum value in the storage table... I have tried to increase the max storage to as much as 1,000,000 acre-feet (obviously way more than I should need!) and am still receiving the message... Any suggestions?

Thanks!
Terri

Re: HEC-HMS Error Message

I'm having the same problem, but I guess I don't expect too much from free government code. I suspect if we had to pay for this code that we wouldn't be having such trivial problems. I can't even find any explanations of the error codes in the online manuals which aren't all that helpful either. With my luck I'll wind up having to write a spreadsheet to route the hydrograph through the reservoir myself. Sorry I don't have the answer, but it appears to me that HMS is somewhat finicky and unresponsive to say the least. Still - it's free and it does seem to work some of the time so I suppose I can't complain.

Re: HEC-HMS Error Message

I had the same problem, then I realized I had put in elevations instead of storage values in my storage-discharge data. Might not help now, but maybe someone else will run into the same problem
