Wink About the Grid formats of HEC-HMS

Hi,all

I am one of the newest members of this forum, thanks for reply in advanced.
My problem are,
a) HEC-HMS3.1.0 can use gridded data. But what formats does it surpport? For example, the Gridded SMA need Canopy Storage Grid, Soil Storage Grid and so on. What formats are these grids? Can ArcGIS surpport these grids? How can I transform ArcGIS grid to the grid formats which HEC-HMS need? Are there some tools to help us transform ArcGIS grid to the grid formats that HEC-HMS need?
b) If I have the right grids that HEC-HMS need , how can I put them into HEC-DSS? Are there some tools to help us input grid data to HEC-DSS?

Thanks very much!

Hello,

Using ArcGIS and HEC-GeoHMS you should be able to create the grids you need in ASCII format.

To transform these ASCII files into DSS files, you'll need a program AscII2DSS. To obtain this program you have to contact the HEC-USACE staff.

Hope that helps,

Rodrigo.
