DSS File problem

I am running a 2-year long unsteady flow simulation with the hopes of extending to several years. When I set the hydrograph output interval and detailed output interval to 1 week or 1 month, I get an error message prior to post processing saying:

"Error running the unsteady post processor: Rock River Ft. Atk. to Janesville
DSS File used: C:\Docs\RSV Lake Koshkonong\HEC-RAS\Rockriv1.dss
Error reading data from path: /RIVER-1 REACH-1/29.5 INL SPILL GATE #1/GATE OPENING//1WEEK/INDIAN1GATE/ No records were found (the data returned all -902's)"

I recall seeing on the "what's new in HEC-RAS 3.0" that there was some difficulty in the beta version with DSS files and output intervals of 1 week, but I thought the current HEC-RAS 3.0 is no longer the beta version. One interesting note though is that when I click on the DSS tab in the main RAS window, I can retrieve the actual data for the gate, e.g., it shows the flow, closing and opening, etc.

On a slightly different note....with gates in inline weirs--is there any way to tie the open/close command to a WSE at some other location other than directly upstream? My guess is no, but maybe I'm wrong. Also, is there any way to set different operating strategies for different times of the year?

Any help would be greatly appreciated, and thanks in advance.
