Hec Ras: Storage Areas problems

I have some problems with storage areas because my hydraulic model run in more steps an I have some lateral weirs each one connected to adifferent storage area. When I generate the first restart file, on the second step the program exit with an error message: it don't read data from the .dss file. It don't display an error regarding the .rst file, but the .dss file. If I remove all the storage areas and I connect oll the lateral weirs to a single storage area the program run correctly from a step to next. The disadvantage is that I must evaluate the floodplain volume from the tabulate output relative to the single lateral weir because in the storage area there is the sum of all volumes leaving through the single lateral weirs.
