Cross Section Interpolation

Dear Users

I am trying to interpolate additional CX between 2 given cross sections.
The surveyed CXs have less than 500 station points. However, when
Hec-RAs interpolate, it creates additional CXs that contain more than
500 stations each. As a result, Hec Ras cannot run with ant CX that has
more than 500 points. How can I keep an interpolated CX to have less
than 500 station points??

Thank you very much for your previous time.

Re: Cross Section Interpolation

Yao,

You need to go to the cross section point filter routine under Tools in
the Geometric Data window. This will allow you to reduce the number of
cross section points by removing the points that add the least
information to your model based on elevation or horizontal differences.

Re: Cross Section Interpolation

Dear John

Thank you for your kind reply. The CX point filter works wonderfully. Do
you prefer using Co-linear filter or near-point filter? Which one works
better for you? The additional cross sections I interpolated made my
model very stable. You save me from agonizing.
