Error in DoModelImport

When I try to import an sdf-based xml file from HecRAS 3.1.1 to Hec GeoRAS 4.1, I get the error, "Error in DoModelImport". I can click OK to this and the geodatabase is created in ArcMap, but with no data in it. Any ideas?

Re: Error in DoModelImport

YOu must use RAS 3.1.3. The is a new block of code introduced that defines the spatial extents of the data.

Re: Error in DoModelImport

AbNormal_Depth, I use RAS 3.1.3, but I have a similar problem: when i try to import an sdf-bases xml file from HecRAS to HEC GeoRAS 4.1, I get the error: "Error in DoGenericImport". The geodatabase is created, but with no data in it.
Why??

Re: Error in DoModelImport

As abnormal depth suggested in another thread you should try this :

during the Setup, make sure that you have NOT selected a terrain model. (Start a new Arcmap sesssion that has never
had a terrain model used for post processing.)

It worked for me

Re: Error in DoModelImport

Another idea....
look at the SDF (or the XML). XML cannot have "special" characters in the text...such as tildas or accents. If the file has any of the characters it is not a valid xml file.

Re: Error in DoModelImport

Thanks, but the problem persist.

- My HEC RAS version is 3.1.3.
- In post processing setup i don't select the TIN
- The xml file has not special characters
- beside, I run: regsvr32 "C:\Archivos de programa\esri\WaterUtils\XMLDataTools\bin\GenericImport9.dll"

...but the problem persist.

Re: Error in DoModelImport

I have gotten the same DoGenericImport Error and "copyfeatureclass: 91, object variable or with block variable not set"

Has anybody been able to resolve this?
