Layer Setup using HEC-geoRAS

I am using the HEC-geoRAS extension in ArcMap to create an export file for HEC-RAS. When attributing the XS cut lines, I continually receive the error message "All cross-section tools: 20003: Error occured in reach length tool!".
In addition, when running the layer setup, the program seems to have already populated the Storage Points and Levee Points values with the layer with the shape-file I created (the field is empty if I don't save my data as a shape-file, and I can't change it to null) , despite the fact that neither is applicable or correct. I cannot change this to anything else, and then get an error message: "Cannot add the following fields: (layer='thelayerinquestion')
name=SAID, Type = 1, MustExist = 0
name = Elevation, Type = 2, MustExist = 0".
I can generate an export file, but HEC-RAS does not recognize it.

Thank you very much for your help!

Re: Layer Setup using HEC-geoRAS

I am also receiving the error message, "All cross-section tools: 20003: Error occured in reach length tool!". Has anyone figured out how to fix this?

I only receive the error when I try to add cross sections. The Downstream Reach Length tool works fine if I don't add more cross sections. I don't know what has changed since I digitized the first set of cross sections.

Thanks.

Re: Layer Setup using HEC-geoRAS

I just figured out what was causing this error. In my flowpath file the LineType attribute for one of the lines had a null value. After fixing this it worked fine. Hope this helps anyone else with this error.
