Unet To Hec-ras Conversion

Dear forum members:

Can anyone help me with the conversion of a UNIT file to a HEC-RAS format? I have a file that is in UNIT format but I don't know how to use that model and I am trying to open it in HEC-RAS format. Help help is highly appreciated.

Thank you.

Re: Unet To Hec-ras Conversion

From RAS, open up the geometry editor. Under the File menu, go down to Import Geometry Data and choose UNET geometry format. And then import the UNET data set.

This will get you started. However, be warned, it will take some work to get everything set up correctly. In particular, if your data set has any bridges, these will have to be re-entered.

good luck

Jarvus:

Thanks for your response.

Importing UNET from the geometry editor implies I will not be able to import the flow and other boundary conditions. Correct? Is there a way I can import the flow data to HEC-RAS?

Thanks again for your help

It has been a long time since I tried doing anything with a UNET data set. But I do not believe it will import the flow or boundary conditions.
