Exporting Data as a text file

Hi

I'm trying to export data from the profile plot at each time interval. At present i'm having to select 20 profiles at a time, copy the values to clipboard and then paste them into Excel. This takes a while with 500+ time intervals!

Can anyone help me or know of a shorter way to do it?

Many thanks

Bryony

Are you using or have you looked into the Report Generator. I've not used it, but it sounds like it should work for this.

From the main HEC-RAS window, under file, go to Generate Report or do a search in the User's manual.

I'm not sure why you would want to do this since all the data is in the output .dss file but...

Try using the HEC-DSSVue software (from HEC). There is an excel add-in that allows you to extract data from the dss file directly into excel. You may have trouble getting 500 items at once in versions before 2007 with the 254 column limit so you'd have to split your data into multiple sheets.
