Binary-text file converting?

Anyone can convert a HEC-RAS output file from a binary format to a text format?

I am not aware of anyway to do this. What information are you looking for? Most of the output can be had in text format by using the report generator option.

Thank you for your response.
I am programing with HEC-RAS. In my program, I want to create automatically a text format output file so that I could pick up some data from this file for the programing. The binary format output file is automatically created whereas the report file is not (???). I need a automatically-created text format output file.

Yes, it would be nice if there was a check box that would automatically create the report at runtime.

This could probably be done through the HECRAScontroller which allows RAS to be run as a VB script by an external program. I have not done this and it is apparently an undocumented option (I regularly see threads on this forum asking about how to use it), but if you are motivated...
