inlay structure or culvert?

Hello everybody.

I have to model an inlay structure (sort of) and I need to split the main river channel into two disctinct flows, like having a concrete wall in the middle of the main channel.

that's needed in order to have one channel (made of concrete as well on the left) and a by-pass channel (on the right) the latter will work just in case there's exceeding flow.

then my question is how to model the structure? using a culvert modeling or an inlay structure? because I really need it to be two separate channels (though in the main river channel and not two separate reaches with junctions and such);
the inlay structure I tried to use doesn't seem to work as I wanted.

Thanks in advance for any help and sorry for my bad english but it's not my native language.

Giulia

If the one channel only has by-pass flow, then I think you would want to have two separate reaches connected with junctions. Why do you think this would not work?
