Quasi-Steady

Dear friends,

I am trying to simulate sediment movement in a river. The sediment module of HECRAS works only with quasi-steady inflow BC. I defined this but it gives the following error if I start the computation:

Error - Incomplete data, the following errors were found:
River: "...." Reach: "....." RS=44 - has a zero flow value.

Although I defined the BC in RS= 44 as Flow Series. The only thing is the simulation time in the table of flow series. This part can not been defined and I think the Program should be able to insert it to the table. I have defined the simulation time in my Plan and also in the window of the Flow Series, but it did not appear in the table?????

I have attached the pics of the windows of Quasi-Steady part to this mail!

I didn't find but how I can force the program to insert the simulation time in the flow series table.

Does anybody have an idea how I can overcome this stupid error?????

Thanks in advance
Cheers
Dave

Hi Dear Dave and friends,

I am having the same trouble too.

I tried to run the Sediment Transport Analysis but it couldn’t be computed. When I try to run my study case, the same message is shown:

“ River: …, Reach …, RS= … (Upstream Section) – has a zero flow value”

I has check my data in “quasi unsteady flow” and it seems to be complete too. I used “flow series” for upstream boundary condition and “rating curve” for downstream boundary condition.

Did you solve this problem Dave or, Is there someone who could help me finding the solution ?

Thank you very much

I solved the problem – has a zero flow value

Hola Colegas.

Yo tenía: 01SEP1981 a 15AGO1982
Cuando en realidad debio ser: 01SEP1981 a 15AUG1982.

Saludos y espero les sirva.

Vladimir...

Same problem-Zero flow error message

I am having the same problem with my Sediment Transport Analysis. It is telling me that my RS has a zero flow. I have checked my dates entered for simulation and they are not misspelled as was the last user's problem. Any other suggestions on getting past this problem? Thanks!

Erin

Possible solution

Hello colleagues,

I've had the same problem. Solution for my problem was setting parameters for temperature. This setting is under Quasi Unsteady Flow editor (button at the lower left corner).

I wish you all the best.

Hi All,

I have been trying to run a quasi steady model that has two storage areas represented. When I try to run the model I get the error

"Error - Incomplete data, the following errors were found:
Storage Area:"Northern" - does not have initial elevations specified in the steady flow data.
Storage Area:"Southern" - does not have initial elevations specified in the steady flow data."

I do not see anywhere to define the initial elevations for quasi-steady runs. I have found the place to do so in the steady flow runs and the model runs succesfully. can anyone help?
