HEC RAS 90 degree bends in a canal

Hi,

I am pretty new with this, I am currently busy trying to model 90 degree bends in a proposed canal design. I made a cross section just before the bend, one at 45 degrees and one at 90 degrees. Is there an easyier way to model the bends??

Attached is an illustration of the bend.

I would suggest that you model the 90-degree bend by drawing two reaches connected with a junction. The River would be the same, but the reach names would be different.

You should then select the Momentum computation mode and enter the angle of the bend. That way HEC-RAS can account for the energy loss as the water makes that sharp turn.
