PROBLEM WITH HEC-RAS BRIDGE ANALYSIS

Dear Sir,

We applied HEC-RAS analysis in cases of streams with bridges and we have encountered the following problem:
When weir flow occurs, it seems like no flow passes through the bridge and most of it overflows, although the bridge opening area is considerably large. As a consequence, we get results that do not respond to reality.

If you have any suggestions that might help, please write to us.
Thank you very much.
Yours sincerely

Re: PROBLEM WITH HEC-RAS BRIDGE ANALYSIS

With the $95.00 version on our WWW site, support is very limited. However, your model should run. Make certain that you have defined your bridge models similar to the examples that came with the HEC-RAS program.

You might want to look at our RiverCAD application. This also uses HEC-RAS as its analysis engine, but is MUCH MORE robust. It has a complete model checker built into it, and has much more complete examples. You can also download this program and its user documentation from our WWW site.

Please contact me should you have any additional questions.

Sincerely,
