Problems interpolating cross-sections

Hi,

we have a big problem

when we were interpolating cross sections, an error message appeared and after HEC-RAS has been closed

when we open HEC-RAS an "error reading initialization file" appears but we don't pay attention and we press OK

we select "file open project", we open a project already existing (created before)

when we are selecting "edit/enter geometric data" "error plotting geometric schematic" appear but we have entered 24 cross sections before and we have saved them. when we see this we press OK : nothing appears on the screen!!!

could you help us please?

Re: Problems interpolating cross-sections

Dear LARUT PASCALE :

We have seen this a few times before. I believe that it is related to your Windows version using the French character set. If you switch to the USA character set prior to running HEC- RAS, I believe that this error will disappear.

Another possibility it that your HEC-RAS maybe corrupted. In this case, simply re-install the software.

If you have any additional questions or need any further information, please contact me again.

Re: Problems interpolating cross-sections

Dear LARUT PASCALE :

From the Windows Start Menu, select Settings | Control Panel. From Windows Control Panel, select Regional Settings. Set this to English [United States]. This may solve the problem you are experiencing.

Note that to really fix this problem, you should consider upgrading to BOSS RiverCAD. BOSS RiverCAD is a more powerful and professional program than the standard Army Corps HEC-RAS.

If you have any additional questions or need any further information, please contact me again.

Re: Problems interpolating cross-sections

Dear Chris E. Maeder,

you said that our problem came maybe from the use of French characters. How would we do to have the USA characters?

If the problem appears again and we have to re-install the software, will we be able to conserve the work that we have made?

Thanks for your help!!!
