Vegetal Retardance Software

Hello everyone

Does anyone know of a program that designs vegetated channels in which you input the channel geometry, slope, Q and vegetal retardance and the program outputs velocity and depth. I would also like the input and output in metric units. Or if the program is only available using input and output in English units, I would be content with that.

I have an old DOS based program called Flowcomp that does the above calculation, but I can only use English units and it is not the most user friendly program.

Chris:

I think the answer to your question is HYDRAIN. HYDRAIN can be downloaded from the following site.

http://www.fhwa.dot.gov/bridge/hydrain.htm

HYCHL - option within HYDRAIN specifically solves your channel design problem. HYCHL is a program which assists in the analysis and design of roadside channels and riprap lining. The program follows the FHWA procedures presented in HEC-11 and HEC-15.
