Adding additional HEC-RAS plan files

I have a RAS model with multiple profiles which I import and topolink to RMS. When I export the model from RMS to RAS I can no longer open the other plans in RAS. I have a seperate plan for floodway and another for a high water mark check. The *.p0* files and other related geometry and flow files are still in the directory but RAS does not recognise them.

Re: Adding additional HEC-RAS plan files

Dear Jeff :

This happened because the PRJ file that RMS/RiverCAD exported overwrote the existing PRJ file. Apparently, the other PRJ file contained references to other HEC-RAS plans. However, this is easily remedied.

Once you have opened the exported RMS/RiverCAD HEC-RAS project into HEC- RAS, you can quickly add in the other "missing" plans. From HEC-RAS, select File | Import. You can then select the other plan, geometry, and flow files. These files are named with the file extensions *.P?? (for plan files), *.G?? (for geometry files), and *.F?? (for flow files) in which ?? are numerals 0 through 9. When importing these different plans, simply select them in sets (i.e., *.P02, *.G02, and *.F02).

This should get you up and running. If you have any additional questions or need any further information, please contact me again.

Sincerely,

Re: Adding additional HEC-RAS plan files

Thanks, it works. I also found a few minutes ago that they can be added to the *.prj ascii file manually but your way is faster.

Thanks for the quick response.
