Importing and linking to the existing cross-sections

When importing a HEC-RAS 3.0 modified River CAD file, I created a new reach and checked the box for maintaining the topo links. The HEC-RAS file had modified geometry information and steady flow amounts. These modifications were made to a HEC-RAS file that was exported from River CAD. The RUN ANALYSIS works fine and the results from River CAD matched those from HEC-RAS. However, when the floodplain mapping feature is tried, an error message pops up saying "Unable to display topo results". Is something else required to plot the WSE on the topo? Prior to creating the new reach, the topo map results were plotting fine.

Re: Importing and linking to the existing cross-sections

Dear John :

Note that when you created a new river reach, essentially you have told RiverCAD not to look at any cross-sectional data outside of that river reach. Hence, it is not linking to the existing cross-section cuts that you previously created. That is why it cannot create a revised topo map, since it is not linked to the topo. To get around this problem, you will need to manually link the cross-sections. This is fairly quick to do, using the Input | Ground Geometry | Topo Link command.

If you have any additional questions or need any further information, please contact me again.
