Colored lines printing problem

Chris -

When I select the printing window and preview the print everything looks fine and all of the lines come up. But when I send it to the printer only some of the lines print. I thought at first that one of the colors just might not have had a pen weight assigned to it, but one layer that is in blue is printing and another layer that is in blue is not. Everything except the contours are printing. It is almost like the layers are selected to not print. Even the RCAD topo cut sections aren't showing up. Have any suggestions?

Also, do you have to bind a xref in order for it to be recognized when printing? Because I have attached a drawing, but have not binded it and it isn't printing anything from the xref. I hope you can help!

Thanks - Kim

Re: Colored lines printing problem

Dear Kim :

Umm... Never seen this problem before. It should have nothing to do with if a drawing file is externally referenced.

Note that some printers / plotters will not print certain colors if the colors cannot be reproduced on the printer. Have you tried to print in black and white?

Re: Colored lines printing problem

All I am printing in is B&W. I don't care for color at this point, I am just trying to get everything to show up...

Our first time around with printing a couple of weeks ago, this same thing happened but we just assigned pen widths and everything printed fine...

We just can't seem to figure it out this time around...

Re: Colored lines printing problem

Dear Kim :

Note that the default pen width is 0.039 inches, so perhaps your printer / plotter driver is interpreting some of the lines as being too thin to output.

You can adjust the line width in the Print dialog box. Select "Configure...". Once you have the printer settings to where you want them, you can then save these settings and reload them for other drawings.

If you have any additional questions or need any further information, please contact me again.
