Floodplain results & AHC2D.arx

Hi all,

Recently when I go to get floodplain map results for a RMS Job I get the following error: "Cannot load AHC2D.ARX: please make sure it's in the ACAD path". I've checked the RMS directory, the AHC2D.ARX file is still there and the path to it is set up in the support file search path for ACAD and the working support file search path. And then she craps out on me. Everthing else seems to work fine.

I started having this trouble in an old job of mine and I suspected corruption in the database so I created a brand spanking new job completely from scratch and I still get the same error.

One other thing. Every time I try to do the the configuration of the elevation layers settings gets lost and I have to reset it.

I'm running RMS 2000 in Land Enabled AutoCAD MAP 5 (not LDD!) on an NT 4.0 box.

May everyone have a blessed Thanksgiving!

Re: Floodplain results & AHC2D.arx

Dear James:

It is possible that you are using a complex directory path for RMS or your drawing files. This might be causing RMS not to be able to load the ARX file. Perhaps you can try a simpler directory path.

Otherwise, it sounds as if one of the RMS files is corrupted and I would recommend reinstalling the RMS software.

Hope that this helps.

Re: Floodplain results & AHC2D.arx

Chris,

This directory path has worked in the past so it must be an RMS file corruption. I'm running a network install where the RMS files are referenced off of a Netware 4.11 network drive. Then we run NetSentinel version 5.00 to control licences with a hardware lock on the server. Questions:

1. Should I do a complete uninstall on each machine?
2. The RMS install.exe I've got is dated 1/26/01 with five install.w0# files numbered 2 through 6 with the same date. Then I have a rms2ku2k.exe file dated 2/06/02. Are these the latest install files or is there something more recent perhaps I should be using?

Re: Floodplain results & AHC2D.arx

Dear Jim:

Note that there is a newer version of RMS than what you have, available as a free download from our web site at:
http://www.bossintl.com/products/download/item/RMS.html

Reinstalling the RMS software will set it back to default installation settings. If you continue to have problems, please feel free to contact me directly rather than the forums. I do not manage the forums.

Sincerely,

Re: Floodplain results & AHC2D.arx

Chris,

Worked like a charm! I can now get a very nice floodplain with the same file I was having problems with. You-da-main!
Sorry for not contacting you directly. I thought this was the preferred medium of exchange as this keeps a record of problems for posterity.
