Merging DEM's in RiverCAD for use in Dambrk

I work for the Corps of Engineers out of Louisville, and I am performing a dam break analysis for one of our reservoirs with Boss DAMBRK and RiverCAD. The purpose of the model is to quantify downstream damages/loss of life expectancy in the case of dam failure. I'm having problems importing more than one DEM at a time into RiverCAD. It takes nearly twenty 30-meter DEM's to cover the downstream area, and I need to be able to import them, merge them, and create contours to be used to cut X-sections with.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks.

Re: Merging DEM's in RiverCAD for use in Dambrk

Dear Andy :

This is quite easy to do. Simply import the DEM's, one at a time. As you import the DEM, you can then have RiverCAD contour the DEM data. Use the same contour interval, and the contours from the neighboring contours should match extremely well.

Also, remember to use the "Draw" option so that the contours are drawn into the drawing file. If you use the "Show" option (the default option), then the contours are simply "painted" on the screen to show you where they will exist. The "Show" option allows you to check the contours before committing to them. Once you've accepted them, then use the "Draw" option to draw them into the RiverCAD drawing.

If you have any additional questions or need any further information, please contact me again.
