1D river flow modeling

Dears,

I am doing some reseach in river flow modeling. I want to know whether there are any models in 1D river flow by which I should able to compute the head and dischage of a network of rivers.

I would be very much thankful if you could give some technical informations such as the governing equations of 1D river flow and related technical papers or models etc.
