System Requirements

Just wondering what kind of system specs you need to run river cad or similar (such as river 2d) when importing a txt file with approximately 350,000 points (ie x,y,z locations)?

Current system is a HP Small Form Factor 2.4ghz, 1gb of ram, 40gb hdd, standard hp intergrated graphics card. Previously it had only 512mb of ram and the system would crash when attempting to create the diagram. Now with 1gb its able to process the image but it has been a few days now and its still processing. The CPU is currently maxed out and running at 100% utilisation.

Any suggestions of system specs would be greatly appreciated.

Re: System Requirements

Umm... Should be able to handle it without any problems. I had a model with over 4 million points and it did it in few minutes. However, the new RiverCAD XP is able to restrict the data extraction to where the model domain is.

Let me know if you still are running into problems.
