Bridge error- upstream distance zero

I can't find the place to fix this error listed below. Anyone know where to fix this?

River: "Reach #1" Reach: "Doctors Creek" RS:1022.5 BR - Bridge/Culvert has an upstream distance of zero, HEC-RAS requires a positive distance between the upstream cross section and the face of the bridge. A zero distance was allowed in versions prior to 3.0. A table was added to the geometric data editor to facilitate global editing of bridge distances and widths. Some length will need to be added to the upstream distance column and an amount greater than that will have to be subtracted from the bridge width column.

Detail data check...Failed

Cannot generate HEC-RAS data file.

Re: Bridge error- upstream distance zero

Dear C Westbrook,

I guess you are using HEC-RAS module of RiverCAD XP, not the HEC-RAS as a stand-alone.

In HEC-RAS module of RiverCAD XP as well as HEC-RAS as a stand-alone, you cannot give a "zero" distance between the bridge face and the immediate upstream cross-section of the bridge section. You have to specify a distance between the two.

To solve your problem you could follow the following steps:

1. Select the cross-section where your bridge is located.

2. Go to ‘Inputs/Openings/ Weir Flow Parameters’.

3. Enter the desired value at the ‘Bridge Rail to Section Distance’.

4. Then perform the Analysis.

Hope this will help your problem and you could successfully finish your project.
