What are overbank stations?

What are overbank stations?
What stations should I enter in Cross-section descriptions dialog box (RiverCad 2000) for overbank stations? The bank stations or the overbank limits?

Re: What are overbank stations?

Hi,

You should enter the bank stations for each cross-sections for the "overbank stations" in cross-section descriptions.

Re: What are overbank stations?

The mud line has been used as the bank line. The bank line is normally chosen from the most obvious stations (i.e., where the change in elevation changes dramatically).

In Figure 1, points 1 and 2 are the most obvious points to use as the left and right bank stations. However, we do not use these points because we want to use the mud line as the left and right bank stations. The mud line is indicated with points 3 and 4, so we use points 3 and 4 as the left and right bank stations.

Also, Fig.2 represents the better understanding of bank stations in natural condition.
