Maptech

Dear Mr. Chris Maeder,

We have Maptech and we were wondering if we can cut cross sections on a Maptech file? The Maptech file shows us elevations at every point so we were wondering if RiverCAD can work with it.

Also, after we cut our cross sections, is there a way we can export the data to HEC-RAS? Or do we have to manually put it in from Edit Geometry. I tried export HEC-RAS project, but received an error.

Thank you for your help and sorry about the multiple questions.

Sincerely,

Ellis Byeon

Re: Maptech

Ellis:

If you can get us a sample Maptech file illustrating what you are trying to accomplish, I will see if we currently support it--and if we do not--what it will take to add support for it.

Thanks

Re: Exporting HEC-RAS data

To export your HEC-RAS model from RiverCAD to HEC-RAS, select Reach | Export HEC-RAS Project. You will be prompted for the HEC-RAS files that it is to export.

Note that the export routine does some basic model checking and might warn you that you are missing data if your model is not complete. If you are having trouble with this, please let me know.

Thanks
