new user

I am a new user of RiverCAD. In going through the user manual that was sent to us i have come across numerous screen shots in the manual that do not match the screen shots on the program. I have been able to get past most of them and figure stuff out, but now i am at a point where it is asking for me to go to the "User Summary Tables" The instructions are to go to "Reach" and then "User Summary Tables" however when i do that under reach there is nothing called user summary tables. Where can i find this box? Also from time to time when i run the program after going through the tutorials that came with the program I.E. L08.dwg after i perform the analysis and go to Analysis output report it says "no valid hec-ras analysis available" Any help??

Hi,

You will find “User Summary Table” under “Reach” menu while you are in HEC-2 module.

For “HEC-RAS” module, “User Tables” is under “Output” menu. To define “User Tables” in HEC-RAS module you have to go to “Output/Profile Tables” which will open “Scenario Analyzer” dialog box. There you could define “User Tables” from the menu at the top of the dialog box.

Thank you for the response. When i follow your instructions it gives me "cannot find analysis results". So i go into analysis/perform analysis and it runs the report. After which i go to Output/Analysis Output Report and it says "no valid hec-ras results are available" and then it tells me to run the report. Any other ideas. We did not get the Hec-2 interface because we were told that we could run the entire program trouble free with only using hec-ras, however it seems like the program is geared more towards Hec-2.

Note that for HEC-2, there are two ways to generate output report tables. One way is to define them using the J2 card, which is what it seems you are doing. This only generates tables when you run HEC-2 and the results are in the output report.

The other way is to use the Scenario Analyzer, which is available from the RiverCAD Output Menu. Select Output | Profile Tables. It will display the output results for both HEC-2 and HEC-RAS. However, if your model did not run successfully or you used a long directory path or an AutoCAD drawing name with a space in it, there might be some small problem in finding the results. That might be the issue where it cannot find the analysis results.

From the Scenario Analyzer, you can define your own "custom" profile tables by selecting whatever variables are available for HEC-2 and HEC-RAS.
